A sorc wearing some of Tals, an Occy, a lidless/splendour and maybe some nice jewellery can do huge ammounts of damage - a Barbarian (for example) needs THE best gear plus an Enigma to be a successful dueler, and they'll probably max out at 4k or so damage. In 1.09 sorcs were ridiculously superior, and could easily get by with -60% all resists - there were no Enigmas or Chaoses, and they were basically unchallenged against any melee duelling class, hence the introduction of runewords like Enigma to make things a bit fairer. I know sorcs are already really powerfull, but It just seems with enigmas and fury claws and all that as far as pvp goes its just not fair. Only good runeword for sorcs is coh and even then its not that great compared to a hurricane druid withe nigma, or a ww enigma assassin I mean, sorcs were ment to be able to get out of danger fast including in pvp but if a barb can just teleport next to u how are u suppost to survive. I dont know what a runeword for sorcs should be but I think maybe some really good shield or something I dont know just saying its very unmachted now. I know not everyone was suppost to have enigmas but now that everyone does since blizz doesnt seem to be deleting that much of them they should try to do something to ballance them.

-The 30% CTC Decrepify is the money-shot, here. It breaks immunities, lowers resistance to physical damage by 50%, slows by 50%, and reduces targets ability to deal damage by 50%. And at 30% ctc on a starfer this will get cast approximately once every half second as long as you're hitting your target. Decrep is an amazing asset defensively, and offensively for your whole party.
Yeah those are the same files I'm using. It doesn't say anything about adding to a command line. It just says to drop it in the game folder and it should work. Which it isn't. Anyway, after more researching through other forums I believe people have concluded that RWM doesn't work for macs on 1.14. Apparently the mod uses Carbon, which newer macs don't use anymore.
I'm not sure why they ever excluded ladder runewords from single player anyway. What the hell is the fun in a game where you can't get some of the best items?

RE: Sorc Runewords Has anyone yet considered that sorcs are already ridiculously overpowered? Fire sorcs and lightning sorcs can both deal 10k + damage, with cold sorcs doing easily more than 4k and hitting a larger area. All sorcs can teleport, most with a much higher cast rate than an Enigma char.
Really good ones. -It grants no on-weapon IAS so make it in a fast bow. -It grants NO ENHANCED DAMAGE, wtf? Relax it makes up for it in spades.
A 4 socket item will not work with a 3 socket formula. • The Socketed Item type must be the correct item type for the formula. If the formula requires a sword, the formula will not work if you use an axe or spear. • Rune Words will only work in Socketed non-magical items.

I agree, that it's nice when it means something, but to a zon speed should be king. Think damage per second, not damage per arrow. -Some of the cheaper RW's, like Harmony/Passion are worth re-rolling to get a good ed%. When I get a Ko rune. I made an edge yesterday - couldn't find a Reflex bow with 3 slots at all - searched for hours. Made it in a Razor bow to be going on with. My 'zon is now level 22 - only 3 more levels and she can equip it.
Rune Word Rules (please read these rules first) or • When you create a Rune Word you still receive all of the magical bonuses that were already on each Rune you Socketed. • Socketed Items must have the exact number of sockets as the Rune Word formula requires. Since the game's file structure is identical, all you have to do is add the text files to the MPQ archives OR into the global/excel/. Folder and then have them read first via command line arguments. I'm not sure if there are MPQ editors for Mac, but the command line option should work regardless of the game's version? It's not really a complicated mod, after all, since you'd just have to set a flag for each deactivated runeword in the corresponding runewords.txt (I think).
Staves - Mean Staves and not other items that are Staff class weapons like Wands. Keep in mind when experimenting with unknown Rune Words that you must be prepared to accept the loss of your Runes if the formula does not work. Rune Words must be inserted into the correct item for the formula in the correct order.
This does not include any other types of Maces. Make sure you read about Hammers above. They are not 'maces' in the case of Runewords. Melee Weapons = Most weapons that aren't ranged such as a Sword or Hammer. A Bow or Crossbow is a ranged weapon and is not in this category.
-A powerful bow to be sure but the cons are many. -You have to put it in a slow bow since it requires 6 sockets.

Consistent damage and speed will pwn a big max damage number on the LCS with slow attack speed any day. This is a very important part of the 'Zon philosophy to me. Most people like to see a big fat number on their character screen.

• Rune Words will not work in Wirt's Leg • The Runes must be placed in the correct order. You can have the correct Socketed item, correct runes and still not activate the Rune Word if you do not socket the Runes in the correct order. This is because you're trying to spell the 'Rune Word' correctly and you have spelled it incorrectly.
This is not true.there are many runewords that a sorceress can use besides Chains of Honor. You can use enigma, the +2 skills, MF, str, are all very helpfull, if you can afford it. Also, I've seen cold sorceress' use doom before. What about for low levels? Lore is a nice helm with +1 to all skills. Also there are a few sorceress runewords like: leaf memory Heart Of the Oak (Yes, this works in staves, and maces) and many others that all characters are 'able' to use. Some of them might not be the best.but the fact is that they're there.

-The Lifetap is somewhat unecessary, but it's nice for melee-rs in your party and your merc and valk, etc. It's never 'on' for very long because it will soon get overridden by Decrep. -The enhanced damage to demons and undead are excellent mods. They're counted as off-weapon so they won't stack quite as nicely, but they're a good shot in the arm to have. -The magic damage, light damage and 20% Crushing Blow further increase the kaleidoscope of ways this bow hurts things. -It also has cannot be frozen, which gives you more freedom in your other gear. -Prevents monster heal is always welcome, especially in Hell.
Ok, so I've had a crack at the runes.txt solution but got stuck: I downloaded the runes.txt and put it the Diablo II/Global/Excel/Data folder. I then used the terminal to enter open -a 'diablo ii' --args -direct -txt. This seems to work, because when I add '-w' at the very end of it, Diablo opens in a window. HOWEVER, i tried to create an Edge and it doesn't work.- I noticed that when i opened a saved character, I get like 100 files in my Diablo 2 folder that are called 'DATA/EXCEL/arena.bin', DATA/EXCEL/armor.bin' etc. Even if I move all those files to the Diablo II/Data/Excel folder, it still doesn't work. Disclaimer: I use Windows so I can't test this for you. From what I've seen, the Mac/Unix RWM works exactly like the Windows one (which is somewhat obsolete due to the prevalence of PlugY).
